BWFAC impress at a variety of venues
The Blackpool, Wyre & Fylde AC ladies team entered the final Mid Lancs League event in pole position but it was still possible for Liverpool, Pembroke and Sefton to overhaul them.
Emily Japp (20:37) finished first, followed by Jess Rogers (eighth, 23:14) and Bev Wright (23rd, 25:05) to ensure first team place and the title as Liverpool PS were third on the day and second overall.

Hide AdWith five first places over the season, Japp also won the ladies’ individual title, Rogers took the Under-20 championship and Wright the V55 title.
The rest of the squad was Alison Titterington (72nd, 29:11), Dawn Maher (99th, 31:52), Debbie Terras and Claire Irons (126th, 36:39).
The V45 team finished fifth and the squad second in the V45 league.
In the senior men’s race Jim Unsworth was 52nd (44:04), Andrew Simm 70th (45:12), Darren Tremble 88th (46:24), Simon Scarr 186th (59:22) and Alan Wilkinson 197th (63:48) as the men’s squad ended the season still in division three.

Hide AdThe major local road race was the Trafford 10th, won by Chris Thompson of Aldershot, Farnham & District.
BWFAC’s Michelle Tickle set a 10K PB of 43:17 for 446th place, ahead of Stasia Bligh (496th, 45:53).
Michelle Tickle warmed up for Trafford with 23:12 at the Lytham Hall parkrun, just behind Steve Dunn (24th 23:01).
Three BWFAC runners, who are training for long distance races, took on the challenge of the Irwell multi-terrain 20 mile race.

Hide AdEllen McLachlan was 138th in 3:07.40, Kirsty Holland was 153rd in 3:11.57 and Bob Massey 227th in 3:47:57.
At the Blackpool Stanley parkrun, Liam Craine was first with 17:28, Laura Gilderdale 11th (21:09), Deetray Jarrett 17th (22:44), Rick Pinches 25th (23:47), Anthony Blight 27th (23:52), Peter Gibson 32nd (24:17), David Twizell 85th (28:20), Trayden Jarrett 122nd (30:51), Tracey Coxey 213th (48: 49) and Niall Coxey 214th (49:06).
Several BWFAC athletes were at the Sale Indoor Open.
Phil Ellershaw posted 24.49s in the 200m, Bradley Parsons 7.55s and 24.93s over 60m and 200m, Dani Whipp 1:45.77 in the 600m and Chloe Parsons recorded 6.25m in the shot put.
