Union leaders on the Fylde are campaigning to highlight the need for improvements in the health and welfare of their members as part of anti-bullying week.

Duncan Griffiths, secretary of the Fylde Central Benefits and Services Branch of the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS), said: “Over the week the branches locally will be highlighting the fact that there is a need to improve health and safety provisions for the members, particularly with the problem of bullying.”

Branch organiser Rachel Wallace-Dand added: “There needs to be a dramatic improvement in health and safety at work in the area.

“There is not a stereotype of a person who becomes a target of bullying. Women and men are equally likely to be bullied and bullying happens in all sorts of jobs.”
