Store Wars as rivals line up!
Cheeky Morrisons staff handed out the tasty treats along with apples and bread just yards from where Aldi was opening the doors for the first time of its latest store on Blackpool Retail Park on Squires Gate Lane.
The arrival of the budget chain means the grocers now have competing stores within walking distance of each other in South Shore.

“It’s just friendly competition! We go out and about a lot.
“For example as Community Champion I go into schools with our fruit club encouraging healthy eating.
“We’ve had a good response from passers-by today who can see it’s all in good humour.”
Meanwhile children from Roseacre Primary School cut the red ribbon to open the new Aldi, with pupil Jacob Carroll named as the winner of a competition to design an Easter poster which will be displayed in store.

Aldi Squires Gate has created 10 jobs in its new store.
Manager Rob Alexander said: “The team and I really enjoyed meeting new customers this morning, and we look forward to meeting many more in the coming months.
“We’d like to thank Roseacre Primary School for all their fantastic designs – it was very difficult to choose one winner.”
Meanwhile both stores are in for even more competition soon.
German discount chain Lidl has now now started work on building its new store further down Squires Gate Lane.
