High Sheriff Catherine Penny's Remembrance tribute
Her personal message on the wreath, placed at the Hurst Green memorial cross on Remembrance Sunday, noted it was "in remembrance of all those who have given their lives in service for others".
A short socially distanced service was held at the cross, followed by wreath laying.

Hide AdRepresentatives from local organisations attended and two students from nearby Stonyhurst College took part. Trumpet player Emanuel Raffray, 18, played the last post and Francesca Fitzsimmons,14, sang God Save The Queen. The service was lead by Father Tim Curtis and the High Sheriff's chaplain Canon Brian McConkey, vicar at Hurst Green and Rector of Ribchester.
