Captain Tom inspires Sarah's NHS fund-raiser
Second World War hero Captain Tom Moore’s bid to raise cash for the health service by walking 100 laps of his garden to mark his 100th birthday captured the public imagination to say the least, attracting donations galore and topping a staggering £30m.
Now, Sarah Robinson, a 23-year-old former pupil of Lytham St Annes High School wants to add to the fund by offering two of her works at auction – one a portrait of Captain Tom himself.

“I have been truly inspired by Captain Tom and his pure determination and willingness to help the NHS who are doing such an incredible job.
“With a sister working on the frontline in ITU and a mum who is busy dealing with NHS patients in the community, I am seeing first hand the hard work staff are putting in and wanted to do my bit to help them and support Captain Tom in his fundraising.
“I have drawn two pieces of artwork, one a contemporary drawing to reflect the time we are in – referenced from a photo of French couple Alice Barbier and JS Roques – named ‘Quarankiss’ and one of Captain Tom Moore himself.
