Darren's journey for nephew with tumour
Darren Greenhalgh’s nephew Connor Stubbs, 16, was diagnosed with pineoblastoma, an aggressive tumour that grows in the pineal region of the brain, last year.
Now Darren, 49, is raising cash – and awareness – for brain tumour research as he prepares to take on a 103-mile hike in Connor’s name.

Brave Connor, who lives in Oldham , is currently undergoing chemotherapy at the Christie hospital in Manchester. He is being supported by his mum Kay and dad Kevin.
Darren said: “I’m going from the Christie to Blackpool and back. It’s 103 miles roughly - but you know how it is with Satnavs. It’s going to take me five days.
“I used to be quite a keen hiker.
“Connor thinks it’s brill. Lots of people have done lots of different things for him. He’s very popular.

Darren will embark on his hike in several weeks time. People who wish to donate are asked to visit the ‘Connor’s Crusade Charity Walk’ Facebook page.
An online fundraiser has also been set up for Connor and can be found here: www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/karen-pri.
