PICTURES: Manhunt after cigarette was stubbed out in young woman's eye
The 24-year-old woman was also spat on after the group she had been out with became embroiled in a row with a group of men, close to the junction of Queen Street and Abingdon Street, at 3.10am on Sunday, May 8.
Details of the incident were only revealed by police today.
After one of the men spat on the young woman and thrust a lit cigarette into her face, the group ran away, a police spokesman said.

Hide AdThe emergency services were called, and the woman was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital, where she was treated for a damaged cornea and impaired vision.
PC Matthew Pearson, of Blackpool Police, said: “This was a cowardly and despicable assault which has left a woman requiring hospital treatment.
“The nature of the attack was particularly shameful and we want to find the person responsible.”
CCTV images have now been released of man officers want to speak to in relation to the nasty attack.
