Disabled boy's stolen bike found... in Somerset
The five-year-old was being helped into a car, outside the Layton Rakes pub in Market Street, Blackpool town centre, when the girls wheeled the blue and green Monsters Inc bike off at around 8.40pm on Sunday.
But after The Gazette reported on the crime, branded a ‘disgraceful act’ by deputy council leader Gillian Campbell, police got a call from the person who took it, police said.

Hide AdThe offender, who police say was ‘linked to the farmers weekend’, has been slammed by the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs, which held its conference at the Winter Gardens.
A spokesman said in a statement: “The incident in question is in no way reflective of our federation and has tarnished what was an otherwise hugely successful and enjoyable weekend.
“We work in close partnership with Lancashire Police and other Blackpool agencies to ensure that all residents, holidaymakers and YFC members have a safe and fun weekend.”
Some 6,000 are thought to have travelled to the resort for the event, which saw a ‘handful’ of arrests for drunk and disorderly behaviour, a spokeswoman for Lancashire Police added.
The bike thief could now face criminal charges, it is understood.
