Three dogs at the centre of a Blackpool cruelty case have been placed into the ownership of the RSPCA.

Inspectors seized the dogs from a home in Butler Street, Blackpool last July after the owners were accused of animal cruelty.

Amy Jackson, 20, and Louise Tucker, 41 – who live at the Butler Street address – both face charges of causing suffering to the animals and failing to provide a proper environment for them.

On Wednesday (March 15), Blackpool Magistrates agreed to transfer ownership of the dogs to the RSPCA following an application by the animal charity.

The dogs have been kept in kennels for the past eight months but the court order means the RSPCA are now able to rehome the dogs.

A fourth dog seized from the same address will remain in the accused trio's ownership, the court decided, but has not been returned to them and continues to be cared for by the RSPCA in the meantime.
