Blackpool death crash driver Michael Verity appears in court

Michael Verity, 70, is charged with causing the death of Blackpool man Michael McLaughlin who was a passenger in Verity's Skoda car when it was involved in a crash with a Mercedes on February 16, 2022.
Emergency services rushed to the scene near the junction of St Annes Road and Squires Gate Lane where paramedics attended to the 76-year-old, who suffered critical injuries.

Hide AdSadly, Mr McLaughlin died in hospital as a result of these injuries a week later on February 23.
Verity, of Bleasdale Avenue, Poulton was later arrested and charged with causing death by careless driving.
He appeared before Blackpool Magistrates on Tuesday (February 21) but did not enter a plea.
He was bailed and his case sent to Preston Crown Court where he will appear on Tuesday, March 21.
