Council stalwart's son to run
The 26-year-old nurse said his family supported his bid to represent the ward.
He said: “Watching my dad and seeing what he achieved is what spurred me on to stand. He didn’t want me to copy him, but he has given me the tools.

Hide Ad“It is poignant because he died so suddenly, but I feel this was my dad’s seat and there has to be a Collett in it.
“When I have been knocking on doors in the ward, a lot of people have said they knew him. He set the bar high and whoever takes the seat needs to make sure they achieve the same standard.
“All my family are really supportive and it has given us something to be positive about after the loss of dad.”
Eddie died on July 25 after suffering from cancer.
The other candidates are Moira Graham (Conservative), Paul Hindley (Liberal Democrat), and Kim Knight (UKIP).
