Cash for hospital which saved baby with heart defect
Eight-month-old Thomas Williams was born with a serious heart defectpreventing oxygen being effectively pumped around the body.
He was rushed to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool for life-saving heart s urgery just days after he was born.

Hide AdHis grateful mum Kerrylee Glass, 26, organised the fund-raising event at Viva on Church Street to give back to the hospital’s cardiac unit which saved her son’s life.
She said: “If it weren’t for them, Thomas wouldn’t have made it past 20-days-old. They’ve saved his life several times.”
The event, which featured live music from The Jerseys and a raffle with prizes including football shirts signed by players at Liverpool FC and a pair of signed boxing gloves from Brian Rose, raised £1,300 for the hospital.
This comes on top of a further £1,000 raised by Kerrylee and her partner Tom for the Ronald McDonald House, which provides accommodation to parents while their children are in hospital.

Hide AdKerrylee, who lives in South Shore, said: “It was an amazing night.
“We had been planning it for ages because we wanted to give something back, and all the hard work has paid off in the end.
“People were very generous.”
